¡“Señor sálvanos que perecemos”! Mt 8, 23-27
¡Paz y Bendiciones!
Hermanos y hermanas misioneros, espero en la Gracia de Dios ustedes se encuentren bien, viviendo su vida en compañía de Jesús amigo. Deseo que en sus familias y comunidad puedan experimentar el gran Amor que Dios nos tiene.
El Evangelio es luz para nuestra vida misionera, quiero compartir con ustedes este pasaje de la Escritura que nos habla de una emoción tan común, el miedo que suele irrumpir en nuestras vidas secuestrando nuestra paz e influyendo en nuestra salud mental.
La barca es sacudida por la tormenta, las olas parecen vencerles, y Jesús duerme. Esa escena refleja cómo actúa la emoción del miedo en nuestra propia vida, cuando sentimos que las dificultades son demasiado grandes y no percibimos a Dios presente en nuestro sufrimiento. Sin embargo, el Evangelio señala que Jesús está en la escena, durmiendo, pero está. Dios está siempre, aunque guarde silencio.
Cuando los discípulos aterrados despiertan a Jesús, escuchan una pregunta que sigue vigente hoy en nuestras vidas: “¿Por qué tenéis miedo, hombres de poca fe?”. No es un reproche, sino una invitación a descubrir que incluso en medio de la oscuridad Dios permanece presente.
Muchas veces quisiéramos una vida sin tempestades, pero el amor de Dios no consiste en evitar toda dificultad, sino en acompañarnos dentro de ellas. Dios no abandona a sus hijos e hijas cuando aparecen el cansancio, la enfermedad, la incertidumbre o los fracasos. Al contrario: en esos momentos suele abrir caminos nuevos, oportunidades inesperadas y personas concretas que sostienen nuestra esperanza.
A veces nuestras seguridades humanas se hunden y nos hacen descubrir que no caminamos solos. Este Evangelio nos recuerda que el miedo no tiene la última palabra. El amor de Dios, en sus diversas manifestaciones, tiene poder para calmar las tormentas interiores que tantas veces nos paralizan. Y es que, aunque haya noches oscuras y momentos en los que parezca que Dios duerme, Él sigue presente en nuestra barca. Su amor permanece y nunca deja de ofrecernos nuevas oportunidades para levantarnos, volver a empezar y seguir caminando con confianza.
Podemos preguntarnos: ¿Cuáles son hoy las “tormentas” que más miedo o inseguridad se generan en mi vida, y cómo las estoy afrontando? ¿Qué oportunidades de crecimiento, esperanza o cambio pueden estar escondidas detrás de las dificultades que estoy viviendo actualmente?
Que la virgen, Santa María interceda por cada una de nuestras necesidades y las del país de Venezuela que sufre los estragos de los terremotos.

- Por favor, deben activarse para participar en el Congreso. Ultimo día de activación es el 9 de julio hasta las 5:00 pm. Durante el Congreso nadie podrá activarse.
- Todos están invitados a participar en el Rosario mensual en el PMV, el 12 de julio los esperamos en punto de las 6:00 pm.
- Unámonos en oración por el próximo retiro de jóvenes adultos a realizarse del 17 al 18 de Julio 2026
- La semana del 27 al 31 de julio, las oficinas del PMV estarán cerradas. Se abrirá hasta el 4 de Agosto 2026.

“Lord, save us! We are perishing!” (Matthew 8:23–27)
Peace and blessings!
Dear missionary brothers and sisters,
I pray that, by God's grace, you are doing well and walking each day with Jesus, our faithful friend. My hope is that you, your families, and your community continue to experience the immense love that God has for each of us.
The Gospel is a light for our missionary life. Today, I would like to reflect with you on this scripture, which speaks about a very common human emotion: fear. Fear often enters our lives unexpectedly, stealing our peace and affecting even our emotional and mental well-being.
In the Gospel, the boat is tossed about by a violent storm. The waves seem ready to overwhelm the disciples, while Jesus is asleep. This scene reflects what fear can feel like in our own lives, when our struggles seem too great, and we cannot sense God's presence in the midst of our suffering. Yet the Gospel reminds us of an important truth: Jesus is there. He may appear to be sleeping, but He is still with them. God is always present, even when He seems silent.
When the terrified disciples awaken Jesus, He asks them a question that continues to speak to us today: "Why are you afraid, you of little faith?" These are not words of condemnation, but an invitation to recognize that even in the darkest moments, God remains with us.
Many times, we wish for a life without storms. But God's love is not expressed by removing every difficulty from our path. Rather, His love is revealed by walking with us through those difficulties. He never abandons His sons and daughters when we face exhaustion, illness, uncertainty, or disappointment. On the contrary, it is often in those very moments that He opens new paths, provides unexpected opportunities, and places people in our lives who strengthen our hope.
Sometimes the things we rely on most begin to fail us, reminding us that we were never meant to walk alone. This Gospel assures us that fear does not have the final word. The love of God, revealed in countless ways, has the power to calm the storms within us—the very storms that so often leave us feeling overwhelmed and unable to move forward.
Even through the darkest nights, when it seems as though God is asleep, He remains in our boat. His love never leaves us. He continually offers us new opportunities to rise again, begin anew, and continue our journey with confidence and trust.
We may ask ourselves:
- What "storms" are causing me the greatest fear or uncertainty today, and how am I responding to them?
- What opportunities for growth, hope, or renewal might God be revealing through the challenges I am facing right now?
May the Blessed Virgin Mary intercede for each of our personal needs, and especially for the people of Venezuela, who continue to suffer from the devastating effects of the recent earthquakes.

- Please make sure to complete your registration to participate in the Congress. The final day to register is July 9 at 5:00 p.m. No registrations will be accepted during the Congress.
- Everyone is invited to join us for the Monthly Rosary at the Missionary Program Center (PMV) on July 12 at 6:00 p.m. We look forward to praying with you.
- Let us keep in our prayers the upcoming Young Adult Retreat, which will take place July 17–19, 2026.
- The PMV offices will be closed from July 27 through July 31 and will reopen on August 4, 2026.
