“Hoy nos ha nacido el Salvador”  (Salmo 95)

¡PAZ Y BENDICIONES!

Queridos hermanos y hermanas misioneros, les saludo con gran paz y esperanza en este santo tiempo de preparación para recibir y celebrar el nacimiento de nuestro Salvador. Espero en la bondad de nuestro Dios, que cada uno se encuentre abrazando con fe y entrega, las experiencias de cada día, vividas en la comunidad y su familia.

Al escribir esta carta, estoy pensando en la gran bendición que recibimos al afirmar en nuestras vidas que: “Cristo es la esperanza que no defrauda” unido a esta afirmación, reconozcamos lo importante que es para nosotros como cristianos y como misioneros sintonizar con los acontecimientos y tiempos de nuestra Iglesia. Así, al seguir caminando en el tiempo de adviento. La Iglesia invita a cada creyente a abrir las puertas del corazón de par en par y dejar nacer a Cristo. Si Él llega a nuestra vida, la iluminará y nos permitirá conocerlo mejor, amarlo más, seguirlo adecuadamente e imitarlo en el caminar de nuestra existencia.

Cuando Cristo entra en el corazón se produce un deseo de conversión, de arrancar de nosotros aquello que Dios no quiere, y de plantar el bien, la bondad, la belleza, el servicio, en definitiva, el amor. Por tanto, adviento es tiempo para orar, para el encuentro con Cristo, para convertirnos, para poner nuestra vida en consonancia con la fe. Solo así nace la verdadera esperanza, una esperanza que no defrauda, una esperanza que tiene su meta en el cielo pero que ha de desplegarse en nuestra historia, en el vivir cotidiano. Vivamos en esperanza para ser esperanza para los hombres y mujeres de nuestro tiempo que viven la desesperanza.

El Señor viene, el Señor está con nosotros. Disfruta de su presencia. Pero no olvides que eres peregrino de esperanza. Tienes que recorrer el camino paso a paso, detrás del Señor y unido a los hermano/as que son tus próximos. El camino tiene una meta: el cielo. Y en su recorrido es necesario dar la mano a los que están al borde del camino, a los que están cansados, a los que no van por el itinerario adecuado. Todos juntos tenemos que hacer el camino siendo familia solidaria en la que reine el amor y la fraternidad. Somos hijos del mismo Padre Dios. Peregrinamos con esperanza y ofreciéndola a los que nos rodean, especialmente a los pobres, enfermos, ancianos, jóvenes, perseguidos, inmigrantes, es decir a todo necesitado y unidos al salmista podamos decir: “Toda la tierra ha visto al Salvador”. (Salmo 97).

Como misioneros/as seamos peregrinos de esperanza en este Navidad. Que la Luz nos ilumine para preparar el establo de nuestro corazón con el fin de que Jesús nazca y sea recibido con nuestro calor y alegría. Que esta preparación nos lleva a reconocer que el nacimiento de Jesús, pobre y humilde, fue una “revolución” silenciosa y decisiva que generó una transformación fundamental de la humanidad. La Navidad es el gozoso cumplimiento de la promesa de salvación de Dios, en quien ponemos nuestra Esperanza. A Jesús el Salvador, Dios de la paz le pedimos: Trae contigo la paz para el mundo en guerra, enfrentado, polarizado. Que tu paz nos serene y nos permita mirar al hermano con ojos nuevos para establecer nuevas relaciones, para vivir y crecer juntos en el amor y la esperanza. Abrimos las puertas de nuestro corazón oh Emmanuel, para que nazcas y lo llenes de tu amor y de tu bondad.

Queridos hermanos misioneros/as, les invito a tener presente en su oración en esta Navidad, a todos los que han sido relegados a los márgenes de la sociedad, cuya dignidad está herida, a los desplazados y a los migrantes que soportan el peso de la agitación continua, a la vez animémonos a crecer en la Esperanza que no defrauda. Pedimos también, por cada uno de nosotros, para que seamos portadores e instrumentos de Esperanza en nuestra familia, comunidad y el mundo.

Que el nacimiento de Jesús, el Príncipe de la Paz, encienda el amor y la esperanza en nuestros corazones, en nuestras familias, comunidades, ministerios y en nuestro mundo. Que  Santa María, Madre del Salvador, nos acompañe en esta Navidad e interceda por nuestros nuestras necesidades y nos conceda recibir y abrazar con amor a Cristo.

“Today our Savior is born to us” (Psalm 95)
PEACE AND BLESSINGS!

Dear missionary brothers and sisters, I greet you with great peace and hope in this holy time of preparation to receive and celebrate the birth of our Savior. I trust in the goodness of our God that each of you is embracing, with faith and surrender, the experiences of each day lived in your community and your family.

As I write this letter, I am thinking of the great blessing we receive when we affirm in our lives that “Christ is the hope that does not disappoint.” Along with this affirmation, let us recognize how important it is for us as Christians and missionaries to be in tune with the events and seasons of our Church. Thus, as we continue walking through the Advent season, the Church invites each believer to open wide the doors of the heart and allow Christ to be born within. If He enters our life, He will illuminate it and allow us to know Him better, love Him more, follow Him faithfully, and imitate Him in the journey of our existence.

When Christ enters our heart, a desire for conversion is born, a desire to remove what God does not want for us, and to plant goodness, kindness, beauty, service, and ultimately, love. Therefore, Advent is a time for prayer, for encountering Christ, for conversion, and for aligning our lives with our faith. Only then is true hope born, a hope that does not disappoint, a hope whose goal is heaven, yet must unfold in our own history and daily living. Let us live in hope so that we may be hope for the men and women of our time who live in despair.

The Lord is coming; the Lord is with us. Delight in His presence. But do not forget that you are a pilgrim of hope. You must walk the journey step by step, following the Lord and united with your brothers and sisters who are your neighbors. The path has a destination: heaven. Along the way, it is necessary to extend a hand to those on the roadside, to those who are tired, to those who are not walking on the right path. Together, we must embark on this journey as one supportive family, where love and fraternity prevail. We are children of the same Father, God. We walk as pilgrims with hope, offering it to those around us, especially the poor, the sick, the elderly, the young, the persecuted, the immigrants, in short, all who are in need. United with the psalm, we can say: “All the ends of the earth have seen the Savior” (Psalm 97).

As missionaries, let us be pilgrims of hope this Christmas. May the Light illuminate us so that we may prepare the stable of our heart, allowing Jesus to be born and welcomed with our warmth and joy. May this preparation lead us to recognize that the birth of Jesus, poor and humble, was a silent and decisive “revolution” that began a fundamental transformation of humanity. Christmas is the joyful fulfillment of God’s promise of salvation, in whom we place our Hope. To Jesus the Savior, the God of peace, we pray: Bring with You peace for a world at war, divided, and polarized. May Your peace calm us and allow us to look upon our brothers and sisters with new eyes, to establish new relationships, and to live and grow together in love and hope. We open the doors of our hearts to You, O Emmanuel, so that You may be born and fill them with Your love and goodness.

Dear missionary brothers and sisters, I invite you to keep in your prayers this Christmas all those who have been pushed to the margins of society, whose dignity is wounded, the displaced and migrants who endure the weight of constant turmoil. At the same time, let us encourage one another to grow in the Hope that does not disappoint. Let us also pray for each one of us, that we may be bearers and instruments of Hope in our families, communities, and in the world.

May the birth of Jesus, the Prince of Peace, kindle love and hope in our hearts, our families, our communities, our ministries, and in our world. May Holy Mary, Mother of the Savior, accompany us this Christmas, intercede for our needs, and grant us the grace to receive and embrace Christ with love.
